Jennifer Aniston has marked the 60th birthday of her Friends co-star Courteney Cox, describing it as one of the “great honours to call her one of my best friends for life”.
Cox, who shot to fame playing Monica Geller in the popular sitcom alongside Aniston’s Rachel Green, also starred in the Scream films and Cougar Town.
Aniston took to Instagram to share a series of photos and clips featuring herself and Cox, including a scene from Friends and a screenshot of a Facetime call where they are seen blowing kisses at each other.
The Morning Show actress, aged 55, penned a heartfelt message: “Celebrating this powerful, magical, mystical, interesting, interested, ferociously talented girl today! ! ! My sweet CC @courteneycoxofficial… she’s funny like no other, stunning on the inside and out.”
“Independent in the most gorgeous way, cares for everyone even if she doesn’t know you.”
“Terrified of dogs even though I’ve never known her not to have at least two of them. Fiercely loyal to the end.”
“She’ll redecorate a room like nobody’s business. Spot a smudge on a window from a mile (literally) away. She doesn’t care what other people think!! I can’t imagine a world without her. It’s one of my great honours to call her one of my best friends for life… Happy happy birthday CC. I love you!”
Jennifer Aniston is said to be the godmother of Courteney Cox’s daughter, Coco Arquette, whose father is actor David Arquette, known for his roles in Scream and Never Been Kissed. It appears that both Aniston and David Arquette feature in recent social media posts.
Courteney Cox, who has been in a relationship with Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid since 2013, was celebrated last year with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay, were present at the event.

Tragically, in the same year, Matthew Perry became the first main cast member of Friends to pass away.
Perry, famed for his portrayal of the sarcastic Chandler Bing, Monica’s husband, was discovered unresponsive in his pool on October 28.
His untimely death at 54 was deemed accidental, caused by the acute effects of ketamine. The Los Angeles Police Department has recently disclosed that they are conducting an “open investigation” into the circumstances surrounding his passing.
Throughout his life, Perry was candid about his struggles with substance abuse and addiction, and he had established a sober living home to aid men facing similar challenges.
